We are welcoming new faces and returning friends to our properties this month. We headed out to student-friendly Spyglass over the weekend to bring you a first-hand glimpse of the action taking place during turns. We also caught up with one of our property managers Amy who gave us tips on how to get your apartment back to rent-ready shape...and of course avoid missing out on your security deposit reimbursement.

And just in case this hasn't already crossed your mind take a look at the checklist below. Depending on how many you can answer...you may have to revisit your front office.

MOVE - IN CHECKLIST
1. Check to see when the rent is due.
2. Find out where to go to pay your rent who it should be given to or where it should be sent.
3. What are the late charges for rent not paid on time? When do these charges begin?
5. When is the deposit returned?
6. How can you lose this deposit?
7. Is there a pet deposit? If so how much is it? When can it get refunded? Can you get this deposit back if you no longer have your pet?
8. How soon after you move out is the deposit returned?
9. Can you have roommates and what is the building’s policy on adding someone to the lease if necessary?
10. What exactly does the rent include?
11. Does the rent include any utilities? If so which ones?
12. Is parking included in the apartment rental or is there an additional charge?
13. What repairs are covered within the lease? If something happens and repairs need to be made by building management who needs to be called? Are there any charges for repairs not covered in the lease?
