First and foremost, gather up all the cleaning supplies you’ll need for your big spring cleaning day. A few items that might come in handy include the following.
Once you’ve gathered all the necessary cleaning supplies, turn on your favorite playlist or podcast and get to work!
Having a clean bedroom that’s free of mess and clutter is shown to be a significant mood booster. After all, the bedroom is the first place you see in the morning and the last at night. Since it’s such an important room, let’s go ahead and get it cleaned first. Start by taking the sheets off of your bed and tossing them in the washer. While those get cleaned, grab an extendable duster and begin removing dust from on top of your ceiling fan, behind dressers, on window sills, and around your headboard. Once that’s done, spray your bedroom windows with a cleaner and wipe them down. While you’re in the bedroom, don’t forget to clean under your bed!
After the bedroom has been cleaned, it’s time to move on to the bathroom. First, spray every inch of your shower down with grime-eliminating tile cleaner. This will need to soak for a while, so feel free to move on for now. Just don’t forget to come back later and scrub the shower clean. Next, clean your countertops and bathroom mirror. Don’t forget about those hard-to-reach places like the sides of your toilet and behind the bathroom door. Finally, mop your bathroom floor. If you have a bath mat go ahead and throw it in the laundry machine to be sanitized.
By now it’s probably mid-day, so go ahead and treat yourself to lunch. Once you’re finished eating, grab your plate and wash it along with any other dirty dishes you’ve got sitting in your sink. Once you’ve filled your dishwasher and cleared your sink, you can move on to the rest of the kitchen. Begin by throwing out any leftover or expired food sitting at the back of your refrigerator or pantry. Next, wipe down the inside and outside of your oven. Remove your stovetop’s drip pans and clean underneath them where any crumbs or grease may have fallen. Once that’s done, clean the inside of the microwave. Mix a tiny bit of dishwasher soap with some warm water and use it to wipe down your cabinets and countertops. Finally, whip that mop back out and take care of the kitchen floor.
Last but certainly not least, we turn our attention to the living room. To begin, grab that extendable duster once again and dust off your fan blades, furniture, window wills, blinds, picture frames, and around your ceiling corners. To clean accumulated dust off of electronics, such as your TV or gaming console, use a microfiber cloth. If you have a carpeted floor, spray it with a spot cleaner anywhere you find staining. If your floor isn’t carpeted, go ahead and mop it. Next, vacuum the living room floor, be sure you get the dust bunnies hiding underneath furniture while you’re at it. Once you’ve finished all that, light a candle, order take-out from your favorite restaurant, and enjoy a relaxing evening in your sparkly clean apartment.
