Shawn Cummings is the maintenance supervisor at Lake Crossing, a 264-unit conventional property in northwest Gainesville. Shawn understands what it means to work at a luxury community, and he goes above and beyond in customer service. He takes great pride in the property and his property manager does not have to worry about things getting done properly when Shawn is on the job. Shawn has been working to organize the maintenance shop at Lake Crossing so that he and his team can work more efficiently. He has helped our team with time management to get our work order completion times down, and he continues to complete projects to maintain curb appeal. He is an excellent team player and helps however he can with his sister's properties as well. During Hurricane Nicole, Shawn helped his regional manager prepare several properties to prevent flooding, and after the storms, he assisted in clean up. The maintenance supervisor at Arborresigned one week before turns in July and Shawn immediately volunteered to cover the property until we found a replacement. His history with us has always been with conventional properties but when we needed a "key guy" on a large student property, he took on the challenge with a smile. When another maintenance supervisor became ill, he volunteered to cover the property while he was out on FMLA. We are now short a maintenance supervisor on the northwest properties and he offered to cover both his property and our largest property in Gainesville until we can find are placement while also working to complete the CAMT course. Whenever CMC has a need Shawn doesn’t hesitate to offer to help. He is innovative, positive, energetic, and professional, and he trains his maintenance technicians to be the same. He is known as the“go-to” when we have new supervisors to show them around property and Shawn’sheart is as big as his work ethic. We are so proud to recognize Shawn Cummings as the Contemporary Management Concepts Building Relationships employee of the month for November 2022. Keep up the good work, Shawn. We appreciate you.
