Sharlene Blake has been the property manager at Summerlin at Winterpark—a 256-conventional-unit community in Orlando—since September 2020. She oversees an assistant manager, full-time leasing consultants, a maintenance supervisor, two maintenance technicians, and a janitor. Sharlene’s management style, resident relations, prospect recruiting, and time management skills are excellent. Sharlene and her leasing team host frequent events and contests to make her residents feel at home, and they provide each resident with a move-in basket to welcome them to the community. Under Sharlene’s management, Summerlin at Winterpark has now reached 98.4% occupancy and ended September at 99.53% leased. The community earned a perfect five rating in September from Satisfacts and was the Q3 third-place community in resident reviews, with an overarching reputation score of 760 out of 800. Her manager describes Sharlene as “dedicated, efficient, organized, and professional in every situation.” Throughout the pandemic, Sharlene adjusted to constant changes and challenges and ran her property smoothly and with minimal negative feedback. This is testimony to the relationship she and her team have cultivated with their residents so that if a problem comes up, residents know they can come to the office and work the problem out quickly and to their satisfaction.
