Otherwise known as the busiest weekend in Gainesville where if you aren't part of the festivities...prepare for long lines everywhere increased traffic filled restaurant parking lots with ridiculous wait times inside moving trucks by caravan mysteriously every store is out of boxes (so you may run into some late night box bandits behind grocery stores) hotels at capacity and enough school spirit to fill the state of Florida.
If you've never witnessed a grad season in Gainesville (and it happens more often than you think) it's really an experience. You see tearful goodbyes some more joyful than others beaming parents and friends. There's screaming crying and just general tomfoolery. And why not? A college degree is nothing to sneeze at. We congratulate our graduating seniors and wish them the best. Now if you live here and planned on going out to eat this weekend? Forget about it unless you can stand 50 minute to 2 hour waits.
